Report lodged against blogger and website

KUALA LUMPUR: Teratai assemblyman Janice Lee lodged a police report this morning against a blog and a website which alleged she and her personal assistant were involved in a drug case in Penang.

The blog is "The Unspinners" while the website has been identified as www.papagomo.com.

The blog and website stated that two of Lee's personal assistants were seen with a drug dealer at a police station. The blog, however, did not mention the location of the police station.

It was also stated two of her assistants had helped the drug dealer in a recent drug deal.

Lee, when met at Pandan Indah police station, said she only became aware of the blog yesterday through a friend although the postings were on Nov 10 and Nov 23 respectively.

"I totally deny these allegations against me and my personal assistants. On top of that, I only have one personal assistant — Mahmood Samad — who is here with me today," said Lee.

Lee was accompanied to the police station today by Cheras MP Tan Kok Wai. Tan said the allegation came from BN leaders or their supporters as both the blog and the website were linked to the Barisan Nasional and Umno websites.

Meanwhile, Lee said BN leaders should focus on helping and improving the country's economy instead of throwing allegations against PKR leaders.

The blog also alleged that the two assistants were "involved" when Penang police made a drug bust, worth RM10 million, last July. The blog also asked if DAP was involved in organised crime.

Although the blog and the website did not accuse Lee of being directly involved, she is implicated because of her "two personal assistants".

Lee hopes the police would also investigate if BN leaders or supporters were behind the allegations.
